Painting  2003-2007

Having worked for so many years with wax for bronze casting, using wax for painting seemed like a natural progression. The beautiful and vibrant Fayyim wax paintings from 3rd century AD Egyptian tombs laid to rest any concerns about its permanence. The patterns achieved in wax remind me of the Hubble space photos of galaxies and cosmic gas clouds, and I find it

thrilling that the same geometries occur on vastly different levels of scale here on earth and in space.
